Happy’s orphanage is a little different from most orphanages we support. Most have a building where the children live and another area where the workers live; this is not the case at Happy’s orphanage. Happy and his family of orphans live together in a shack he built in the jungle. On several occasions, authorities have come to his living area and demolished the home Happy shares with his family and ten orphans. As they stand looking at what was once their home, they pick up branches and work to rebuild their home once again.

When Happy travels to a nearby village to start a new church, he often finds unwanted children to whom he can show God’s love. Many of the children Happy finds in these villages are ones no one wants to take care of. Some lose their parents to sickness or disease while others are abandoned by their families because the parents were unable to give their children food. In one particular case, the children were being persecuted by their own family and told to denounce Christ or leave… these children are now living with Happy and his family.

The children living in Happy’s orphanage range in age from three to the early teen years. Most of them have seen and been subjected to things far too harmful and hateful for eyes so young, but Christ is showing His love to them through a faithful servant named Happy.
