Christ the Living Word Church
in Metro Manila is a church that
was planted as a result of the
evangelistic rallies and
humanitarian outreaches
conducted by Times Square
Church in the Philippines in
2002. The church has a heart to
reach the people living in the slums of Mandaluyong City. These slums are cities unto themselves which cover an area the size of approximately forty city blocks. They are squatter communities with no infrastructure for sewage or electricity, and muddy footpaths lead you through crowded tin and cardboard homes where thousands live.
Many of the children living in the slums of Mandaluyong City rarely get one meal a day. A local missionary doctor supported by Times Square Church encountered many of the children suffering from malnutrition and began to give part of her support money for Christ the Living Word Church to feed the children. The church began a modest feeding program once a week with these funds.
ChildCry is providing the funding to enlarge the Block 38 Feeding Program from once a week to once a day.
