I can never forget the look on the faces of the children. Why should they have to beg the rest of us for food and what makes our hearts often so indifferent to their plight? Maybe sometimes it's just easier to focus on what we have looked upon as the “bigger issues of the day.” In Matthew 20:31, I can hear the religiously excited crowd following Jesus as they try to "quiet" the two blind men calling pitifully out for help. So much of our activity, my own included, begs of its own need to see what is really important to the heart of God. Jesus Himself told us not to forbid the children to come to Him. In obedience to God, and a heart that longs for an increase of His compassion, I have asked the Lord to give into my hands something that can help all children–everywhere.

From this prayer request ChildCry has come into being. I have been given of Him a bit of songwriting and children's storybook writing skill. Like the widow's mite, I throw my little bit into the temple treasury and hope that this act of faith will encourage others to do the same. We can't do everything but we can do something. The creative abilities God has given us will bless some through their content and others by their sales. In all things let the Lord be glorified.
